How to read the process maps
- Saleable output
- Saleable byproduct
- Moisture or process mass change
- Documented loss
- Often unresolved
For a group with several plants, the difficulty lies less in any one process than in the fact that each site evolved its own reporting. Yield can be gross or net of byproduct. Rework is treated in different ways. One site logs losses by stage and another by shift. Each report can be reasonable locally and still make cross-site comparison misleading.
Standardized reporting begins with an agreed definition, mapped to every site's systems, rather than asking each plant to change its systems. Performance visibility then comes with the right caveats: plants receive different raw materials, run different mixes, and have different equipment. Consistent metrics help group leadership see which differences are structural and which are operational, and they give plant managers a fairer basis for the conversation.
Every Processing Environment Has Its Own Economics.
Yieldstem’s approach begins with understanding your material flows, quality constraints, and operational data—not applying a generic yield target to every production line.
